that would be awesome.

rs3. im currently looking at that also. although for way less than $500

its a good alarm. i like all of its features. but even more important, you have to have someone who knows what they are doing to install the alarm. that alarm isnt worth jack when someone can break your window and pull the brain out from under the dash in 30 seconds.

exactly, its all in the install... my old compustar wasn't a very good alarm by itself but the installation was perfect, very tough to get into.

but the system itself sucked, mediocre quality so im hesitating getting the ultra-expensive uber-long-range spread spectrum version they have now, but if you guys are interested in getting a good cheap system with the standard 1/4 mi range then there are tons of generic variants, and even one by DEI (hornet 55x?)

if you get one off ebay, autotoys, or other sites you can pick up the system itself for like $150, installation shouldn't run you more than $200 (nowadays, back when i got mine installed nobody would attempt installation for less than $300)

They are the pager style remote alarms. They seem like they'd be really useful if you need an alarm, but I want to know how effective they are.

Any opinions?
That's a Clifford Matrix, isn't it?

1) Clifford is owned by DEI (who also owns Python, Viper, etc)
2) this particular model is a rebadged DEI alarm (I forgot if it was a Python or Viper).

Some of my friends have this set up and they like it pretty good so far. Make sure you get the remote start!

two of my boys I work with got those. They say it's the best alarm they've seen. I guess we sell em at my work, so we get a good deal on em. One guy that has one installs the alarms, and car stereo stuff at CC, so I'll believe him
