im askin in here, because its for my cavalier.. what do they do with the old handle if it is? just leave it there?

If you buy a kit it normally come's w/ either a cover for the nub left over, or they put a switch plate over where the handle's were.

 

I had power windows installed in an old S10 Blazer I used to have. Cost me around $100 and they put a little gray cover over the old handle's hole and mounted the control swtiches into the center console. They were a little slower than normal stock power windows but did the job just fine, never had a problem with them. Seeya.

 

spal has a nice power window kit(they have a website), i have it installed on my rex, and ya all they do is put a cap over the hole where the handle used to be.

is the metal piece that sticks out of the door taken out as well, or do they leave that sticking out, so the cap that goes over it is bulging out?

I'm not sure, no the caps are very thin plastic caps, they're not bulging, they come out just a little bit, they go right up against ur doors, by the way I think it's spalusa.com or some shit just do a search if that's not right, they'd be able to answer all ur questions and have kits available.
