one thing i'll never understand...
why do people ask you if your answer is correct? say, someone asks you a question...i.e. "where did you go last night?" i would answer, "to a friends house", and they would then say..."oh really?" as if i wasn't sure where i had gone. or, even worse...i answer the phones at my work. someone calls and asks for an employee. if they're gone for the day, i tell them "they're gone for the day" and then the dumb person on the phone would say "oh, they're gone for the day?" and actually wait for me to answer them "uh, yes, i just said they were gone for the day..." i just want to :slap: them through the phone.

i think when people say that they're trying to continue the conversation by implying some questions.
"I went to Bob's house last night." "Oh, really? (what did you do? who was there? etc.)" ... |
