imax any good?

Default imax any good?

yes i know its a verrry large screen tahts why i'm interested in experiencing it b4 im off to college, but my friends say the screen is just like a big blanket all wrinkly and that the quality isnt good

is this true? hows the quality compared to normal movie theatres?

i wanna see the matrix reloaded on it and i dont want to be dissapointed by poor a poor quality picture (specially for hte matrix )

tell me your experiences!

i've always liked the imax, but you can't sit too close, otherwise you're screwed because the screen is so big.

imax = over-rated

we have a theater here. It's not anything special. whats with this country having this "bigger is better" complex (not aimed at anyone in particular)

we dfeinitely have that complex. probably started when we first came over here. not sure why though.

theres an imax theater at a museum around here, but the movies that they show suck. it'd be cool if they showed good movies though. the picture is high quality

if theyre showing matrix reloaded on it, i'd say its all good then:thumbup:

when they show normal shows, the film is usually formated for IMAX cameras.

Now then, IMAX had an outside company make a special lens that allows 35mm film to be projected onto IMAX's huge-ass screens. I know this because a former best friend of mine had a brother-in-law who worked on the project. Basiclly, its the same film, just blown up. Which means the quality shouldn't be as high as the made-for-imax movies.

but who knows, maybe the quality will be good?
