ugh. I would just get some chains off CL and put them in the trunk. If they "make you" put them on, put them on, drive to the nearest gas station and take them back off. I've seen signs that say "snow tires or chains required" but I've never seen anyone actually checking except for commercial trucks.

If the truck is 4wd, take it...if you don't, you'll be sorry.

i dont think i've ever seen ANYONE with chains on. I dont cannot think of anytime snow chains would be needed. I think they might even be illegal here

Just get a set of used snow tyres... they'll probably come out cheaper then chains or even those gay ass snowsocks.

I suppose that being from SD has some kind of reason to panic at the thought of a couple of inches of snow, especially if all you ever drive on are summer tires.

Again...I'm not panicking about a couple inches of snow...I'm merely following the law should it come around. National parks are VERY strict on chains when required.

Drac, not sure if you're still running the factory Bridgestones on the MS3 but they're completely useless in cold or snowy/icy conditions as I'm sure you already know since they're high performance summer-only tires. I don't think some people on here realize this.

I sure as hell wouldn't try to use them on snow or ice or even below 45 degree temps.

Chains are temporary things. You don't drive with them all the time. Around here for the passes its chains or AWD sometimes. They don't check.

What are the sizes of your tires? I have an extra set of studless tires. I don't know your route but I'll let them go for cheap to you.
