Cancels out my ass. If a bike is going to use the public roadway, the rider has to follow the same laws as the cars. I've seen cops hand out reckless endangerment tickets for shit like that. Also, the pedestrian can't be held responsible for not looking the wrong way on a one way street. I woulda beat that punk with his own bike.

was driving earlier today and saw a woman driving a black 328i w/ a martini glass in her hand. at first i was like, ok, that can't be what i think it is, but sure enough it was. the color of the drink was lemon/lime'ish.

she was driving the car pretty hard, too. accelerating hard off the line at stop lights and out of corners. i was in shock :p

CuppyCake 08-26-2010 10:30 AM

I find it hard to believe that I still see ladies in the AM on my commute putting on makeup in their car WHILE driving.

Peoples ignorance when it comes to rules of the road & safety tick me off.

I saw that just yesterday. She was putting on eyeliner or something at a red light, and I was like, meh. Then the light changed and she went speeding off still putting on eyeliner :eh:

In. Nothing going today. Oh well.

That ticks me off when women do that, because then people/men think ALL women do that kinda ridiculous stuff.

No, actually I get up early enough to give myself extra time at home to DO things like that, thus decreasing my chances of causing a 5 car pile-up...idiots.

I sure do love this song.

Today I got my smallpox vaccination and must adhere to strict guidelines for the next week while awaiting a reaction. I have a very strong immune system so I'm thinking I won't get the reaction the brochure says I will.

"Final Out" is tomorrow morning when I out-process my base then, technically, I'm in-transit until I arrive in Afghanistan next week. Yay!

Good luck Lawrence! Be careful out there and try not to bore yourself to death :o

LT 08-26-2010 05:33 PM

Thanks, Dave, but I don't actually leave until Monday. This weekend is my "official" going away party weekend :D

DarkStarr 08-26-2010 05:36 PM

so people crossing public roadways don't have to follow laws?

and didn't you ever get taught "look both ways?"

Sure, the guy is guilty of jaywalking. But a bicycle falls under the same rules as any vehicle using the roadway. You can get a speeding ticket on a bike (I've heard of this happening in my town), a DUI on a bike, or reckless driving on a bike. How would you react to a car driving the wrong way up a one-way street? It's the same thing under the law (at least here).

k3ifers 08-27-2010 03:22 AM

got me there :o

i had this old guy friend who i worked with at the golf course a long time ago.

he was pulling out of his neighborhood to make a right, so only looking at the traffic he had to turn into. started to go and "hit" a guy running the other direction on the side of the road.

next day a cop is there and pulls him over at the same spot.

cop says he hit a judge who was running.

nothing ever happened because the cop was running against traffic, which is apparently the wrong way in nys.

Red X 08-27-2010 06:08 AM

I think you mean the judge was running the wrong way. What a dumb judge. Doesn't even know the law. :o

white_n_slow 08-27-2010 06:13 AM

I've been in court (I go to court a lot :oh: ) when the judge was nagging a biker about not coming to a complete stop. The judge said he rides his bike to the court house every morning and stops at 20 stop signs, signals all his turns, etc. The guy was like :eh: so the judge gave him a $125 ticket. :o
