Default bulb question: 194=168?

I hope so. I put on my jdm corners yesterday, I have hyperwhite bulbs(Polarg) but I want some amber. My car calls for 168 bulbs, but I could only find 194's in amber. Will they suffice? I can't look at the Polarg bulb to see what it's part# is cause it doesn't say. 168's and 194's look identical

I believe 194s are a tad bigger, but they will still fit.

only difference would be wattage. i forgot which one, but one of them maybe a tad dimmer than the other.

Most 194's and 168's are interchangable.

Just like 3496 is replaceable with the far more common/cheaper/selection of 1157.

168 and 194 has a different filament orientation. I believe 168 is brighter then 194. That is why Accords use 168 and 168 is more common.

yeah, the bulbs look identical, there was no wattage rating though so but looking at the bulbs, you can tell that the filament one one of them is a little thicker than the other.

the filament orientation is the same, just one is a bit thicker than the other. Im gonna put the 194's in and see how it looks, hopefully it'll be alright.

:dunno: im no bulb expert, but the ones I seen last night were identical except for the size of the filament, other than that, I couldn't tell a difference. I got em in and they work fine, I just hope they last:thumbup:
