Pepboys sucks!!!
Last week, a couple friends and I decided to go to Atlantic City for the night. I was about 10 miles from AC and my Civic just shut down on the highway. Before the tow truck got there I figured out that Im not getting any spark.
Pepboys was the only choice because it was about 2pm and all the shops there close at 4.
Anyways, I didnt feel like porking around checking the coil and igniter, and decided to let them diagnose it. These assholes charged me $100 bucks to diagnose the car, only to tell me that I need new distributor, cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs. The estimate came out to $1000 and change.
This was my first experience dealing with chain auto service/dealerships. I was so furious that I left the car there and when i got there the next day the "Master Tech" had no idea that you could even diagnose a bad coil and ignter unit.
It turned out that they had remanned distributors in stock for $200. I got it for $150 with a hookup from a guy at the parts dept. across the street at a Honda dealership, and installed it in about 10 mins (The distributor was cheaper than the igniter unit alone.)
So my question is, should I go and burn that fucking place down, or what?

but i bet he's pissed because they charged him 100 to tell him he basically needed a tuneup and a distributor but ya know what, cant know that till they plug in and look at it and it's not their fault if it's only a minor repair.
