HAN's opinion v.tark

What are your thoughts on the 03+ Infiniti G35 sedan?

There are a ton of them on the market and a lot of them are in the same price range I've been looking at for subarus. I'm not a big fan of my current infiniti, so I'm a little hesitant. I'm also not sure whether I'll be able to get down with an automatic (I've only seen one 6mt out of like 30 cars).

Anyone with personal experience? How do they handle? Will I want to shoot myself if I get an auto/tiptronic?

I'm looking at you Spec R :o

pretty fun car IMO. Not exactly fast but good for in town use. The gears on the 6mt are short and a pain in the ass in town. Oh, and expect your window regulators to go out every 20-40k. Mines got service plan so it's not an issue to me. Plus drivers door handle has broke twice and mine has got 49k on the clock.

Sweet cars. It's not gonna be a race car really, but very comfortable. Auto...eh it's not like you're gonna race a g35...
If you're wanting a sports car per se, how about a track 350z? You get the brembos and such. Or just man up and buy an 04 STi or Evo :D

Do you know how much it costs to replace the window regulator? The other drawback is there isn't an infiniti dealer very nearby and all the normal parts places (worldpac, etc) don't carry parts for my car.

Any other reliability concerns?

lol double post. I'm not looking for a race car, but a work car (carting clients around). But I would like it to handle pretty decent since I do a lot of mountain driving. What I've been looking at is a Legacy GT ('05 plus), and I'd like something roughly on-par with that in the handling department with a little room for small mods like shocks and swaybars.

:edit: As much as I would love an STi, I don't think it's quite big enough in the back seat department, and definitely not quite right image-wise :oh:

432 for parts and labor but it's a relatively easy install. it is the same motor as the 350z so i take mine to nissan here as i have no infiniti dealer either. other than that i have had absolutely no problems. i do know that the rev-up engines have problems with oil consumption but i'm not sure what year models have them. i think 03 and early 04's but don't quote me on that. the handling is nice to be honest but i have the sport package with brembos and the spring rate is a little higher than the standard model.
