I'm referring to the beams of light that we see, I'm guessing its an infrared beam not a flashlight

yes those are "tracer" bullets. I think X is talking about the laser sights that can be attatched to the rifle. you see it thru night vision like you would if you shined the beam into a smoke cloud.
