They calibrated each color with their laptop to be true-to-life...something that I really doubt I could do with the naked eye.

true. by getting mine for about $100, I saved $250 off the TV, so i went with it. I was actually really surprised by the difference.
yeah, it worked out well. HP bought back my old plasma for about $1000, we ended up getting the Panasonic for less than that and also bought a UPS, the calibration, tax, etc for under $1000 when they were selling for about $1700. (sale, pricematch, discount for purchasing a service)

very nice! i might upgrade to a 50ish inch for the home theatre, move the 42 to the bedroom and pick up a cheap 42 for the kids toy room after the holidays.
