camera guru's......
 
ok im looking to buy a new digital camera...the one I have now is a kodak and I think its 4mp..it blows

what are some good ones to look into? around the 200 dollar range....

keep in mind im not trying to do hardcore photography...just something for vacations/take pictures of cars....something with some nice crisp quality images

Sony all day long. I've owned several point and shoot sony's, they are a workhorse man, i've traveled all over the world with them.

really?.....is there a big difference b/t 8 and 10ish megapixels?

the one posted is only 8mp...should I go for one that is 10-12?

Megapixels are a myth. All those point-and-shoot camers all have tiny ass sensors, so getting more MP isn't really worth it, not to mention, unless you're printing 8x10 on a regualr basis or edited and croping, a lot, then forget the higher MP.

I like the Canon G9 and now G10. I am a pro and use them as a point-and-shoot. The GF can use it with ease, and then I have my manual settings.

Word. Having tiny sensors increases the noise because of the small interdistance between the capture elements (even the number of those are the same). More space the higher your ISO can be.
