so my car won't pass smog. story inside

check engine light came on. it had an EGR problem.... smogged it anyways for qualification of the CAP program(see below)...it passed the sniffer but failed b/c of the engine light.

I couldn't figure it out so i went through my states consumer assistance program (CAP) to help pay for the smog repairs. the shop said there was a disconnected evap hose even though i looked and could not fine a disconnected hose. so they fixed it and reset the computer.

now my car is OBDII and it has to run through super picky driving cycles. basically you have to follow this chart that says a certain rpm for a certain time, shut engine off, add 4 gallons of gas etc...for the car to pass the "engine montiors" test.

as of 500 miles after my ecu was reset it still has 3 "monitors" that will not say pass. the state ref regulation says im allowed 2 monitors but not three.

smog guy says he will not smog with 3 monitors not passed. and tells me to go to state ref b/c he can by pass this regulation. i set up an appointment and because the state budget not being passed they shut the place down until the budget is passed :madr:

cliffs: car failed smog, smog guy wont test because car is not ready to test due to ecu, i attempt to smog with state ref, state ref is closed b/c state budget is not passed, eta of state budget is 3 months :madr:
