Study: Lack Of Cell Phone Use Can Cause Anxiety
LONDON (AP) ― We can't seem to live without our cell phones. Many people say they need their phones at all times and they feel lost without it.
According to a new British study actual anxiety symptoms can break out, including cold sweats, if a persons cell phone isn't around. The new disorder is being called nomophobia. It stands for no mobile phone phobia.
"People have this incredible anxiety. 53 percent of the UK population feel anxious when their mobile phone is not available to them," said Stewart Fox-Mills, a post office telecom expert.
The new research of 2,100 cell phone users found nomophobia stress levels are similar to getting married, moving, or going to the dentist.
Researchers have a few suggestions for people with nomophobia, including get a second phone, carry a phone charger at all times, and then there's the old fashioned cure going cold turkey and turning off the phone.

:nervous: True shit!
Looking back, my OCD levels felt that anxiety to the point of me going :eddie: on my OCD. It was like, ENOUGH already!
h:
(1) There's nothing I can do about getting my cell phone right now short of altering too many plans.
(2) 3 of the 5 people that mean a true shit are in the same room with me anyway.
(3) I'll just have to find out information the old fashioned way. When I get it.

There are times when I have gone weeks without answering mine because I actually hate phones in general. I would much rather talk in person or not at all, just how I have always been.

LUNCH with THEOLDMAN...On a break for now...
A while back before I was issued a mag-key to get in to my office, I left on a Friday evening planning to get on a plane the next morning for a trip and I left my phone on my desk.
I had to borrow a friend's phone, call around to the few managers I knew who had keys, and ask if I could borrow theirs. I then proceeded to make a round trip of about 30 miles from my house, to the other guy's house, to the office, and back home.
BUT....I wasn't going on that trip without my phone.
