you guys are so quick to reformat.

i would do little steps first like make sure you aren't running other programs. ie. virus scanner, system tray, adware, torrent, pr0n

for the avg user who installs all kinds of software that bog your system down and has no idea what they are getting and needs all the performance they can get a format is a relatively quick fix

How about on my laptop it does the same thing and there's nothing wrong with it. Its a Gateway W350i.
