Default PDF's of Textbooks

Wondering if anyone has heard of any "sites" offering PDF versions of books?

One of my son's friends got a lot of his books in PDF, don't remember from who though. All he carried around to all his classes was his laptop.

Some textbook comanies are offering this, but you still have to pay for the key and its not that much cheaper than the book.

I would rather have the hardcopy too. I hate reading computer screens.

one time our book order got fucked up for the class so we were given access to the pdf version from the publisher...it was a pain in the ass having to read off the computer instead of an actual book...especially since I do most of my reading relaxing in my car where it is quite.
