I can see I'll be waiting quite a while before I buy this console.

The Blu-ray integration is a feature, a selling point. I don't think Sony is doing enough to sell that point. You can't keep selling this thing as a game system, when the titles being demo'ed aren't up to snuff quite yet.

If you drop the system's price again ... you devalue Blu-ray as a format. All of a sudden, you're the same price as a system without it.

It's not a selling point anymore because the other guy is doing just fine without it.

not disagreeing with this at all. It's what they did with the PSP ... and you see how well that's going.

and this is why 9 out of the top 10 games sold, in the month of May, belong to Nintendo. They're destroying everyone in sales.

Instead of catering to the public, Sony and Microsoft keep telling us what we want.

I agree, that's why adding it to the "bundle" to me, is not making it appealing at all.

True

I'm just wondering how long Nintendo can keep the top spot...

An innovative way to play is great, however, the 360/ps3 destroy the Wiis graphics capabilities h: you can only pull on a string for so long before it snaps...

the ps3/360 seem to fill a more long term want/needs for a gamer, basically, graphics h:

EDIT: I recently just started playing my Wii after about 3-4 months of just sitting there :hs:

I agree with your points. But currently you are seeing prices of HD-DVD players go down alot. Not sure how true this is, just a rumor so far but i saw on Slickdeals how i believe the toshiba HD player will be $99 for a week only starting next week.

Honestly, when everything comes out in the wash, i'll probably own a PS3 with a blue-ray player and i'll have a HD-DVD player.

Also i'm not up to date with the PSP...i just saw the thread about the new one coming out but in regards to sales and stuff like that, i havent been much up to date with it....matter of fact up to date will all handhelds that are currently out.

I have to go with a negatory in regards to the graphics point on that. Of course graphics are nice. But i found myself enjoying zelda and mario party 8 more then Gears of War...in fact...my Gears is collecting dust. It's pretty yet IMO boring.

Hell, I enjoy Contra and Double Dragon for the NES more then Gears. That's why i enjoy buying old school games off the wii marketplace. Only thing keeping me from playing with my Wii now is cus i let my gf borrow it and i'm too immersed in FFXI

not so, I've read so many conflicting reports. one says they will not phase out the 60gb system and others say that once the stock of the 60gb system runs out they will stop selling them all together. I think there is truth in both statements.
I think they will still have a decent stock of the 60gb ps3s come the holiday system and I think they will discount them more to get rid of them to introduce larger hard drives. so after x-mas it will be hard to find a 60gb ps3.

Totally opposite of me I guess, while I am playing Zelda again, the Wii has been collecting dust. I found myself going to my friends house and playing Rainbow 6, Gears, and Resistence h:

The Wii is not a gamer's system. I've realized that. It's a conversation piece. It's a digital ice breaker. It's what you do to get everyone at a party laughing and having fun.

When everyone leaves ... hitting a strike in bowling, nailing that rocket serve in tennis, cranking a homerun in baseball ... just isn't fun without the competitive factor.

When Jen and myself are playing games, she's having way more fun with something she can participate in ... not something that shoots 1080p at her, while observing me play.

The Wii is a totally different animal and I'm not sure if anyone has caught onto that.

Absolutely. 50gbs of disc storage = better gaming experience.
