Default Motorola PhoneTools ?

anyone using this software or anyother PC type software for their cellular phone.

I was given a Razr V3xx to replace my V3. For some reason I guess I need an update or something cause my pc software wont work with the V3xx...

anyone ran into a problem like this or using a version of MPT that works with the V3xx?

I use the program. Its a great program for your phone once you get it to work. The only issue I've experienced with it is for some reason my profile got corrupt and it wouldn't mount my phone. On a whim I just made a new alias and it works. not quite sure how that corrected itself but it works now.

I might try re-installing the software. I think it asks you for the version of the phone when you initialize it. I've tried other peoples V3s on it and some work and some don't. Mine was unlocked so it just worked. Perhaps that's the issue?

uninstall the drivers for the v3
restart computer and mpt
install drivers for v3xx
restart computer and mpt

also make sure its updated correctly and mpt has the profile for the v3xx

if you obtained a legal copy then you should be able to update just fine
if it is a crack then you may not be able to update, depending on what version

howardforums should have plenty of other help

found this for you, might help

"Mine works with XP service pack 2, MPT v4.3.6c, as updated from 3.something.something.whoknowswhat.

When I plug in the phone (without MPT runing) XP sees the phone as USB mass storage. My V3xx micro-SD card shows up as a drive letter. When starting MPT, the first thing MPT does is switch the phone to modem mode. After the phone shows up on the desktop, the device manager shows a Motorola USB modem, driver version 5.1.2600.1330 dated 12/26/2003."

also from bvrp

"The phone has to be in Data connection mode, when it is connected that way, the PC should detect it as a modem and install a modem driver for it."

also try this
"To see if your phone is working correctly:
1. Go to Start, Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems tab, highlight your modem and click the properties button.
2. Click on the Diagnostics tab and click the Query modem button.

A normal response will display some information under the Command and Response section. An abnormal response will result in a popup error message."

that should give you a start at least

I could never get MPT to work with my old v555, and all I wanted to do was transfer pics/video from my phone to my PC. I ended up buying a USB mini-bluetooth tab for the pc for $10, which was easy to set up and made me regret the $25 I spent on MPT and the cable.
