so last week, i parked at work @ 7:55. went in & we had a meeting out behind our building for about 20 minutes. came back in & was hot, so i went to my car to get some change out of the change cup to get me a coke.....

came out to find my passenger window pryed out & laying on the ground busted, window frame slightly bent, glove box opened & emptied, dash around my radio all scratched up from where they tried to pry out the radio & my digital camera gone


i guess they saw the cheap lil sony cd/mp3 player laying on the center console & figured out that the cd player didn't work & wasn't worth stealing....it hasn't played cds in a year or so & i never felt like getting a new one, so i just used the crappy little portable i had laying around & plugged it into the aux inputs of the headunit

work said they "assumed no liabilty for vehicles parked on company property" even though there are no signs saying so....so our union rep is looking into getting me reimbursed

side window was $225 to get replaced. ins won't cover the camera & not sure if i feel like going thru the hassle of getting the dash repaired/replaced, so i might just say the hell w/ filling a claim since i have a $250 deductible

more pissed about the digi cam than anything cause it had some pics of a friends bday that i didnt have a chance to dump to the pc & a few pics of me & the girl i been seeing.....but i can take some more of us when i get a newer much better camera

so, i'm thinking about just going nutty & stepping up to a 10.1mp w/ a big memory card.....any suggestions??

 

That really sucks sorry to hear that. I use to get stuff stolen from me all the time I hate that shit.

 

i suggest not leaving your camera in your car

 

i got off work from the club sun morn at 5am & came home. forgot it in the car then & didn't leave all day sun cause me & the girl laid around watching movies & veg-ing out all day. then went to work mon morn when it happened.

i usually don't leave it in the car, but i just forgot....thanks alot spanky

damn, that sucks...good luck w/ the insurance and everything. I work in a really good area of town, but I still try not to leave much in there at all. Especially nothing in plain sight!

A lady that lives near me was telling me that her car got broken into a few weeks ago overnight and they stole her iPod, some cash, her debit card and credit card, and her camera. I asked why all that stuff was in her car and she said it was in her purse and she usually leaves it in the car! :wtf: People are so stupid.

i started off w/ a sony 3mp that got dropped by a drunk bitch. then i had a canon 3mp that i gave to a friend when i stepped up to the olympus 6mp that got stolen.....not sure what brand to goto

i like a small size that fits in my pocket easily & a large screen for viewing. not much of a feature whore since i don't use it to take "pro" pics of do alot of editing, so........

Canon SD700 is what I'm going to look into buying myself for my birthday next month. I've wanted one for a while - Image Stabilization, large viewing screen, small enough to fit into my purse, etc etc.

We just bought the Olympus Stylus 720sw and I love it so far. It takes kinda slow pics compared to what I'm used to BUT its shock proof up to 5 feet so it can be dropped by a "drunk bitch" with no problems! Plus it can take underwater pics...its waterproof up to 30 feet or something! But like I said, its not the fastest ever....thats why I'm still gonna get the SD700.

 

James.... I'd really look into the canon sd series.. the sd1000 is a pretty awesome camera that has awesome dark shot capabilities.. like taking pics in the club.. big screen and small size.. I rock mine in my pocket no prob.
