alternative to iTunes?

Default alternative to iTunes?
I want to load a few movies into the video ipod, but I don't want to convert the video files into apple's format. Is there any program out there that'll let me load the movies right into the ipod without having to convert?

thanks for the link,
rockbox looks to be a good candidate, but too bad its video player doesn't support dvix files yet.

Nope there isn't a way to play without encoding it to apples standards Sucks eh.
