I know there is brotherhood there too... but I wonder if the cops will take that into account as well?

they do....throw the stickers on the ole window...your good to go i bet

our FD is all volunteer so they get away with alots. but i guess i cant really talk cuz we do live in a smaller town....let me put into perspective the type of stuff we do at our business that the cops dont even bother us and mind you we are right downtown:

1. run 500-600 hp bigblocks with open headers on a test stand for extended durations at high rpm's. (you can hear it from the other end of town)
2. run go-carts and golf carts down a state highway to test them out sometimes
3. run cars through town with no plates

4. i ran 6 months with expired tags, even got pulled over, no problems.

this is why i say i dont understand the hate for cops. half the time they come down to see what we are playing with.

yea... i think big city and small town is different though.

I notice a difference from Upstate NY and bigger cities. Although the cops in Manlius were douches probably cause they had nothing to do. I dunno.

last week my dad got his bike finished enough to get it inspected to get a title.... called up the officer on duty, he came down, pulled up, stuck his head out the window, said yup looks good to me, where do i sign, and off he went...

and people wonder why i prefer small towns

I've never had any problems with cops. I've been pulled over a few times all over the north east and they've always been nice.

Hell, even when I got arrested in Central NY they called and left a message on my answering machine asking me to come down to the station at my earliest convenience.

I think by and large they are good people. THey may be a little more "by the book" but most go out there and mean well. It's just the minority out there (also known as CHP h: ) that make everyone look like assholes.

Actually thats true for me too. The weekend before your wedding when I was going to pick up my Nanny and I got pulled over. Turns out I had a bench warrant out, and the cop let me go after I told him I was Marines and that I was going to take care of it. He was a nice guy.

He actually let me go KNOWING I was heading for the border and leaving the country. Huh... nice guy. PLUS I could have spent the weekend in holding because it was small town and the judge wasnt in until monday.

Negatory. He even has his supervisor roll up and he waved her off. He said if she found out he'd be FORCED to take me in
