I really like the Western Digital Passport line.

2. buy an external case for internal notebook drive
3. assemble
4. ??????
5. Profit!!!

cheapest 80gig is Hitachi for 55. seagate momentus is 65. slap on an case (max 20 bucks) and itll come out cheaper

What about how they are USB powered? Most Laptops can't sustain the mV needed.
