april fool's autocross

Just a little video of the only run I got of the day. Axle seal blew and all the tranny fluid dumped out, had to get it towed home. :( I still won first place for SM2, although I'm not sure if they made a mistake or not, there was a fast guy with a Miata on rcomps who was also in my class and my friend who picked up my trophy thinks they said I was 1/1. Oh well, I'm happy I got one decent clean run. I'll see when the results are posted. It was a blast as usual, the new suspension makes the car a lot better. Can't wait for the next one in two weeks at their new bigger smoother site.

course designers work with what is given to them.

they usually design plenty of run off areas for sections that need it. also why would one plan run off areas for someones whee/lhub breaking?

the car is suppose to be in proper working condition :)

lastly I've seen people spin (in a brand new Z06) and smack the shit out of a curb (had to be flat bedded out). it happens but I've only seen such accident happen 2 times (same hour, same section) in the past 4years or so of autoxing.

oh i take that back, my friend in his brand new elise spun and went in backwards into a light pole at once (brett saw it as well). so that is three in 4 years or so. that course had plenty of run off for everyone else but my friend was pushing it to the limit and ran out of room to stop. shit really happened that day... then 2 years later a ferrari ran into a concrete block :rick: same parking lot :chuckles:

Yeah, they yell at you if you dont keep the area in front of the last gate clear, they've had people go into the woods before.
