I remember reading a story about a kid that camped for 5 or 6 days for his PS3.

He got one of the few and a couple of games, then headed home.

Fired up the machine ...

nothing. Dead on arrival. :lmao:

I'd pretty much end myself.

I hope Sony took care of that kid. That's a colossal fail.

:lmao: that shit sucks.

how are those things doing anyway? i've seen about 2 or 3 in-store PS3 consoles frozen up, the others turned off, and maybe one that was actually still running.

still selling, but slowly.

The Wii phenomenon continues to light up sales figures.

Honestly though, I've locked up my Wii more than my PS3. If I leave a disc in the Wii, power it up, 1 out of 10 times ... it'll black screen.

i suspect we're going to have a repeat of the gamecube. i expect the ps3 to eventually come out on top. we'll see though. nintendo has to keep on top of putting out some great games if they don't want this to happen, and as it is, the PS3 is still too expensive.

They are having the exact same problems. Consumers are only buying titles which are Nintendo branded. Here's the top selling games for the wii:

2. Wii Play w/ Remote (Wii) Nintendo
3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) Nintendo
8. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Wii) Nintendo
11. Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii) SEGA
19. Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii) Ubisoft

(these titles are pulled from an overall top 20 sales list including the PS3, PS2, 360)

3 Nintendo branded Wii games sold in the top 10.
2 3rd party branded Wii games sold in the top 20, both in the lower half.

The #2 game was AWFUL. It just shows that the Nintendo sheep will do anything.

3rd party developers are discouraged to publish games because they don't sell at all.

Havent had any problem with my PS3 at all.

I have played FF XII for 15 hours straight or so with no overheating or controller problems.

My biggest gripe is that when you put in a PS2 or PS1 game, you have to power the controller on again after the mod loads.

Other than that, the PS3 has been solid as a rock for me.
