Default IIDX and DDR

Anybody here play these 2 games and if so what kind of setups do you have.

The GF brought over her DDR Extreme 2 and her dance pad and showed me how to play properly...needless to say i'm looking for a cheap way to get DDR Universe for the 360.

A friend of mine also told me about IIDX (pronounced 2DX). Looking at a few videos he has of it, it looks intense.

Beatmania IIDX has a steep learning curve. IIDX is 7key, regular is 5. I played it when it when Beatmania US came out but stopped soon afterward. DDR is a little more enjoyable... at least you get a little exercise while entertaining your friends and random onlookers.

I bought a couple of nice DDR pads off ebay for $40 a year ago. They have the 1" foam insert which makes them easier to feel the different buttons. After I got the pads I bought ultramix for $20.

does it have to be a special pad to work on the 360 or will a regular usb pad work? $70 seems kinda steep. Whatever you get make sure it's got a firm backing to keep it from bunching up. The attachment is a pic of the type of pads I bought.
