Default DVD/DivX Players

I'm looking for a dvd player since my PS2 likes to crap out, my roomate lost his remote for his xbox and his tv doesn't have a dvd player. I want to get one that plays DivX files so I can watch those home movies.
Does anyone have one? Do they play the divx files well? I want to get a cheap DVD player, but I don't want it to crap out on me.
