Would someone actually try to break into a car through the tailights? I went out to my car today and both rear lens were smashed and it looks like they tried to push the bulb sockets in, breaking the plastic. There's nothing really valueable in the car, the optima redtop battery is in plain sight, I have a cheap deck, the only thing worth anything is the sparco seat really. I take the wheel off when I leave the car. I don't get why someone would do this, I don't think I have any enemies. Maybe I pissed someone off driving? This shit sucks.

 

I knew of some bums who would break windows to steal coins. Young kids do really dumb things.

 

come on, didnt you see gone in 60 seconds? they can short out the alarm by breaking the fog lights so why not the tail lights?

Or they just wanted to vandalize your shit. Maybe they realized it was only a B16 in it then gave up.

 

sorry about the breakin. i dont even try to figure out why thieves do what they do anymore. most of the time there is no thought involved just opportunity.. someone broke into mine at xmas time, a few yrs ago, for 1 paper towel and bottle of windex on the floor. nothing suprises me. dont get the point of smashing the tail lights. the trunk release is pretty far up on the trunk lid. they could have been looking in your trunk to see what kind of stero equipment u had in the trunk if any.. maybe they were just high and thought that would be something to do.
