Depends on what speed your mobo runs at. You can't just slap in 4 x 1gb sticks and call it a day.

Yeah... You could just get the biggest and fastest DDR that you can get in your budget. If anything it'll run faster than what you need and you can just overclock the vagina out of it.

fastest = not always the best.

you gotta match up the bus speed and ram speed in proportion.

We have 3 older laptops at my house that we still use sometimes. 5 gig hd in each. I haven't checked out the ram. I keep forgetting to.

i should sell the laptop..i don't even use it anymore. the only time it comes in handy is if i bring it to the hotel when im traveling which is not that often.
