So lately I've been thinking............
 

And i've decided to join the police academy. My dad knows a few people in the county's police dept. including some cops and detectives. My gf has a few people in her family who are cops and detective's also.

How many of you are or know someone who are police officers? What steps did you guys go through? Tests,camps,etc.... are no problem, I plan to go 110% with this.

all my experiences with "the man" have been less than positive :o

I don't know what the problem is with the other two guys.... but, a couple of my friends are cops, as far as I know there are a lot of prelimary testing before you get into the academy itself. ( Physical fitness, group interviews, etc...)

Anyways, so yea there's also a mental test that you have to go through also right? The fitness thing I been working on for the past 2 months. How long would you say the time frame would be from paperwork/testing to actually being the force?

They went through a polygraph testing also, along with a series of psychological questions with that :dunno:

As for the time frame from inital interview to academy, 3-4 months depending on the amount of people that applied I presume

Yea, I forgot about that too a buddy of mine said they ask you a ton of questions to see how you react and stuff. Not too sure though about everything else but i'll find out.

Yea I figured that much for time, I was guessing I would be in the force maybe by summer/end of summer time so I figure 5-8 mths.
