PC water cooling vers.pool

So how does water keep a computer cool? Doesn't air have to flow over all the components of a PC?

Yeah, but an engine already has coolant passages built in. It just seems like it would be less efficient because you can only run the tube over a certain area, and plastic doesn't conduct heat very well. I'm no expert though.

no where is plastic used to dissipate heat. the coolant flows into a waterblock with a smooth metal base that are securely mated to processors, chipsets, whatever needs cooling, etc.. the flowing coolant (water, whatever) picks up the heat, carries it out to a radiator where the heat dissipates... like a radiator on an engine.

very creative, but too elaborate. i'd rather improve the cooling system on my car than my computer
