360-wii-ps3?
some kid i work with told me that the wii could easily push out better graphics than the 360 or ps3. i dont know what all that shit means but it made sense....i like halo too much and all the games i like from sony i can get for 360. han should make a system, i'd wait a few decades for the bugs to be worked out though....

the Wii's chipset is far behind that of the other systems...
the main processor for example is a single PPC chip
the 360 has a tri-core PPC chip, meaning it has approximatly three times the power of the Wii at least, and with SMP it probably has more like 4-5 times the power in alot of situations
the PS3 features a 8 core PPC, with one core deactivated and one core being used for system security and other stuff... 6 being dedicated to the games... this means that it will have about 6 times the processing power of a Wii's main chip
when it comes to the graphics boards the 360 and the PS3 are on par with each other (As the 360 features a co-processor to handle the 4xAA and filtering, to allow it to match the PS3's capability even though it might not be as good of a main chip)

Comparing the Wii against either system is retarded.
The Wii was designed to not have to try and share this market. It was not built to be ABLE to compete with the 360 or the PS3.
The 360 and PS3 are the two top systems. The Wii will be the other system you own.
That is what they planned to do. 90% of people will not be able to afford a PS3 and an XBOX. The Wii will be the other console you play.

The Wii will be capable of playing a shitton of previous nintendo/sega/turbografx 16....ect games via the "Virtual Console".

i must say nintendo was smart on in that sense
the idea is that the PS3 and Xbox are going to be so similar that the only logical choice when choosing to buy two systems (which i estimate 50% of buyers do)
is to buy the Wii as the second system....
better yet for nintendo is that most of these sales will have happened later in the systems lifespan, when production costs have already dropped due to manufacturing improvements and avalibility of parts are pretty much infinite.
but honestly though, i still feel that the main problem i face is GT5 VS HALO. i feel that right now i'd be best buying an xbox, and i feel that alot of parents looking to buy a system this year will actually jsut buy an xbox for their children because the PS3 isnt going to be around.
furthermore, the blu-ray player on the ps3 is in-consquential in the decision as blu-ray is a retarded media medium. it's a mass storage replacement, not a DVD killer.
