'bulimic' Ate Self To Death
November 4, 2006 -- A case report of a 22-year-old woman who died after an eating binge underscores the rare but serious consequences of bulimia nervosa.
Early recognition and treatment could potentially prevent such deaths, Dr. Endre Gyurkovics of Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, and colleagues report in the International Journal of Eating Disorders.
The woman, of normal weight, arrived at the hospital with an extremely painful, distended abdomen. She had overeaten to the point that her other organs were crushed.
She died after emergency surgery.

Sad though... I wonder about the prevelance of eating disorders before modern media and unrealistic body images, and if our current misconceptions could have affect on her life... or if someone that can reach that degree of self abuse had underlying psychological problems that would have occoured with or without external influences...
I'm thinking I'm postulating too much for the basement. HAR HAR SILLAY WOMANbetter?
h:ah shit, just realized you said once they were liberated...in that case, most were so sick there was nothing medicine could do for them at that point as well
