I'm thinking of going back to school...
 

I am not sure what I am going to do though. I have been trying to get my Fire Academy done soon so I can just be a FireFighter already, but i'd like it alot to have a 4 year degree regardless. I guess now would be the time if I could get the student loans and stuff, to go back to school. I'd get In State tuition too, so that'd help.

I am really interested in HealthCare. They have a 4 year B.S.N. (Nursing) program here, and I think I would do fine with it. It's only $3,492.00 a year, and I could work enough to live off of I'd think.


So what do I do? I am an EMT already, so should I just wait and go to the Acadamy and become a firefighter now, then eventually part time myself to becoming an RN/FireFighter, or should I go ahead and get the 4 year thing done full time now, then be a firefighter later?






If the only comment you have is about me being a male Nurse then go fuck off. I am asking for serious advice here from people who might have done it already. I have a helping complex. Sure I get in fights alot i guess, but I wanted to be a teacher, joined the Marines, and want to be a FireFighter and a Nurse. I just give and give :fawk:

My sister is an RN, if the hospital contracts you to work for them, you make more money, however most of the time you don't get benefits.

My sister makes 35/hr right now for the the hospital she works for, hired nurses go for 25/hr... :o

Go for it man if you really want to and that's what you like to do, Nurses are needed and get paid real well. Plus you can basically work anywhere you want :oh:

Yeah paramedics really don't make so much compared to nurses. I know this dude that's a nurse at the local prison... Fucking guy makes $50/hr. Works 12-hr shifts 4 times a week. The rest of his time is spent buying properties :eek3:

don't you have to be smart to be able to finish that program?
