2006 Gti is nice i was always a VeeDub fan when the 2006 model came out i did not like the body style but as iv seen it more often i think its not bad at all

A buddy of mine just picked up the new GTi and after driving it I am impressed overall with the performance. I still am not a fan of the interior and the longevity has yet to be seen.

Knowing the track record of VW in recent years with their waterpumpers I would be real skeptical about buying one.

VW's used to be really good cars until the late 90s when quality of parts and assembly dropped significantly...what's more is VWs command a premium over its competition but rewards you with niggling reliability issues or with pathetic engines such as the 2.slow

I look at 8 year old Hondas and 8 year old VWs and the Honda is still running almost in new condition and the VW is either ready for the junkyard or getting repaired.

I think the ones made in mexico suffer a lot, but the ones in Germany run fine.
