I'm doing some work on a Boxster S this afternoon

I was supposed to do it next weekend but I'm doing jackshit today. It's my dad's golf partner. Intake manifold vacuum leak, so I gotta replace the gasket, and then doing a valve adjustment (on a timing chain, which doesn't make too much sense but he assures me Porsche recommends it every 30K until 60K miles).

This should be really fun, because the intake manifold is on the top of the engine, and I can't get to anything until the car is jacked up and I go from the bottom. :hahano:

I thought you pretty much can only work on those if they're up on a lift...

So how did you get roped into this anyway? Guy mentions his car needs some work, pops kinda volunteers you and then says "hey so you're fixing my buddy's car"?
