i hit space/enter harder if i'm using it to press a button in a dialog box, etc., but not when typing.

Tab, SPACE!!

If there is ANYONE in the room to hear it (ie. you), then yes it makes a sound. If there is nobody in the room and by some freak accident the ENTER key gets slammed really hard, it actually does not make a sound.

...Sorry. I am sure you were not looking for an actual answer...

I beat my space and enter keys like they owe me money h:


I guess because they are easy keys to nail more than anything else.
