I can't believe the stud broke before the ball joint spun, ridiculous, it wasn't even threading on super hard. So I'm like yeah, I have to buy a whole new UCA now, which I just replaced less 2 years ago. Best part is afterwards I go grab an air chisel with a pickel fork attachment, spray some PB in the gap and on the chisel, comes out in literally 1 second. I don't even see why ripping the boot would be an issue if the boot and fork are lubricated, I am doing it that way everytime from now on.
I was originally just gonna leave it the way it was and threadlock it and get the nut on as far as possible, but then I started to imagine what it would be like if I was going around a corner with that side fully loaded and it just gave out. :eek4: I'm sure it would loosen up and give some warning, but I want peace of mind. I love how the guy at the dealer says it costs $150, and then decides to give me a deal since I'm a good guy, and offer it at list instead of $20 over list. I promptly go online and buy it online at their cost for $106 shipped. Fuck dealer double markup.
