maybe not refugee, but what the hell ever it's called... fugitive, that's right, sorry... but anyway, seems like canada would be one of the easiest places to go to find someone that has fled... seems like you'd have better luck heading to mexico or something and it's only like 15 hours closer...

There's a big difference between refugee and fugitive status. Those guys are fugitives (running away from the law for something illegal i.e. murder).

Main Entry: ref·u·gee
Pronunciation: "re-fyu-'jE, 're-fyu-"
Function: noun
Etymology: French réfugié, past participle of (se) réfugier to take refuge, from Middle French refugier, from Latin refugium
: one that flees; especially : a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution

6 entries found for fugitive.
fu·gi·tive ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fyj-tv)
adj.
Running away or fleeing, as from the law.

Lasting only a short time; fleeting: “[His] house and burial place... should be visited by all who profess even a fugitive interest in political economy” (John Kenneth Galbraith).
Difficult to comprehend or retain; elusive: fugitive solutions to the problem.
Given to change or disappearance; perishable: fugitive beauty.
Of temporary interest: fugitive essays.
Tending to wander; vagabond.

I swear, i think some people only hang out here to see if they can talk down to someone or look for someone else making a mistake so they can call them out... And as for the definitions, it says in black and white "danger or persecution." I guess they weren't running from ANY kind of danger, were they? Definately not the "danger" of being arrested and charged for their crimes. MY BAD, but you get my fucking point... It reminds me of that show back in the 80's (Small Wonder) where the little girl took EVERYTHING literally and didn't have any COMMON SENSE and couldn't use CONTEXT CLUES to understand what was being said...
