Should I... or shouldn't I?
 

I haven't talked to my father in about 12 years... lately... the past 4-5 years or so.. I've been dragging my feet about contacting him.

I found his most current address when I was working a temp job a couple years ago and had accsess to free SS# searches... but.. I lost it.. :mad:
I was thinking of sending him a simple card this year.. kinda asking if we can get back in touch... but jeezus... these places are charging upwards of $40 or more.. and .. I've been tight on cash...


what should I do?

Personally I would not contact him.

If you have thoughts about it, why not? i dont know the whole story though.

im in a similar situation, althought its only been a year. I don't have an interest to do anything about it at this time. :o

It was always kinda forced... my parents split when I was three... and... idk... it was just always awkward talking to him on the phone... and... I was bitter in highschool... so... I just stopped talking to him. :dunno:

If he hasn't made an effort at all, sad to say he probably has no interest.

I would contact him, alot of feelings, things, etc change in the course of 12 years. I have only been out of HS for 4 years and the relationship that I have with my parents, even coming from a home where both parents were great it has evolved alot into an entirely new kind of relationship.

I've kinda made up my mind... and bought the card... I'm just wondering if I should really spend the $$ to get his address. :oh: And idk... maybe I lost his address for a reason.. type of thing.

Well.... he was in Bosnia for a few years. :oh: That may have had something to do with it.... and it's not like I made an effort... but I have been toying with the idea for a while.
