Default im struggling with this...

okay so without getting into a drawn out conversation about whether or not people should spay or neuter their pets, im having a battle with myself here, not that it will change anything.

Holly wants to get our dog Ellie spayed. Personally, im not big on the idea, i think its unneccesary and risky but alas, Holly won that fight.

here is where the problem lies. I have to drop her off at the vet on tuesday morning where she will be left until wednesday night furthermore, i have to sign the waiver that says if they kill my dog, im not going to shoot anybody

so you probably think im crazy. well, 2 of my dogs have died under the immediate care of a vet. i dont trust them to knock my dog out, cut her open, remove some parts, and wake her back up.

this is eating my brain, all i can see is the image of my dog in my head and i fear for the worst. if something happens, i will not cope very well AT ALL.

Well if you are up for the short amount of time and trouble, being a part time breeder on the side can bring in some quick cash.

GF's sister is thinking about getting another Pug, a female and if her current male pug happens to get her pregnant.... opps. $600 -1000 per puppy in the local paper.

tell your girl that you dont feel safe, or did you already?

don't do it man, I don't see why girls do this to their dogs... if it is to stop him from humping... you just tell him not to and train it. Would SHE like it if your dick was cut off?

The really scary thing is that veterinary school is more difficult to get in to than typical medical school...

she knows how i feel about it and why. the problem(s) she has... Ellie (being a girl) and Buddy (my boy) are both currently "in tact" and i'd prefer to leave it that way. but holly doesnt trust buddy (i insist that its our responsibility to supervise our pets) and since i flatly refuse to have him clipped, she says ellie has to be. furthermore, she is uncomfortable with the "spotting" ellie had her first heat so we just kept her in diapers for a week. i didnt think it was a big deal. she wont budge

we originally intended to breed her (she is AKC purebred, no cheap dog) but she has a little bump where her umbilical cord was (belly button) the vet said it "might" be a hernia, i think its just an "outty" bellybutton. anyway, holly did some research and breeding a herniated dog can be risky, the hernia could get worse and we dont want to take a chance hurting the dog like that.

but again, id rather be a responsible pet owner and keep an eye on my dogs. i dont intend to "fix" my kids cuz they might have sex and end up with babies of their own but i do intend to do my best to supervise my kids and hope that they dont make any mistakes...
