Creative Zen:M mp3 player

Just bought a 30GB Creative Zen Vision:M... I'd like to hook it up to my car, (an RSX-S when i get it).

I'd like to know if anyone knows how to or would be able to point me in the direction on how to hook this up. I want to keep the wires hidden. I believe ill have to buy a new headunit, which is fine.

Is there a way to have it charge as well while its hooked up in the car?

Are getting a Type S or a Base? If it's a Type S, there's basically no way to hook it into the stock headunit except for wireless FM transmitters. The Base RSX headunit has a CD-changer control input on the back that you might be able to find an adapter for. Check out these threads:

Also, where did you get your vision from and for how much? I ordered one from Dell a few weeks ago but it's still on Back-order - the black ones seem to be out of stock at most places.

It'll be a type s. and i actually bought mine from circuit city, i called today and they said they had 2 left. i was pretty damn lucky cause ive been calling on it since it came out and no one has had it in stock.

So if i were to buy that, i could hook it up to the stock radio and have it wired that way correctly?

What if i bought like an alpine or pioneer headunit?

yea... it uses the stock radio's aux connection, but its 100 bucks... you may as well get a new head unit.

not all alpines or pioneers ahve aux inputs, some still need adaptors.

That won't work on a Type S though, as there's no CD changer input on the Type S headunit since the 6 disc changer is an in-dash version. If you buy an aftermarket headunit it should be pretty easy to hook up your vision. Most of them will have an aux-in jack that you can just plug the iPod stereo out into, but you'd still have to control what's playing from the vision itself. I don't know if there are any products out to control the Vision directly from the headunit.

if you want it to charge... then theres a little more involved, regardless of the HU you have. You would need some type of ipod car charger that plugs in to the lighter socket, or hardwire in :o
