For those experiencing a "memory leak" in firefox....
ib ie & ff bashing :oh:
if firefox is using more than 100+ megs of memory on your computer... try this "fix" Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter. Find, or search for browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers. Double click it, and set it to 0 (optional, prevents caching of pages for the back button) Now Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean. In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_minimize. Press Enter. Now select True and then press Enter. Restart Firefox. What this does is move firefox to the page-file when minimized. memory usage drops down to 10, and settles back at ~60 megs or less when maximized again. Try it.... you may notice a difference :o |
