B20 Q's?
What needs to be done to increase revibility in a B20 block? want to be able to rev at least 7k maybe more, because planning on CRV-tec
At least ARP rod bolts. I would do rods, balanced crank/rotating assembly.
So a performance crank or just have it balanced
Have the OEM crank balanced...OEM cranks are damn near bulletproof, no need to change. If you want to go to 8k, just the rod bolts should be fine.
Ok thanks, Where could I have it balanced at and would I want to use my B18b crank or the B20 crank? I'd probably change the pistons for a Higher compression.
B20 crank = B18B crank...same thing with rods...they're identical. If you change pistons, youre going to need to change the rods...so they will come with ARP bolts. Any automotive machine shop should be able to balance the crank.
Ok, so new rods, pistons and balanced crank and I should be good 2 go?
What compression do you recomend? Want to turbo later so not too high but not too low I was thinking like 9:7 |
Well if you can find a B20Z instead of a B20B, the compression is 9.6:1 stock. I like 10:1, good all around number.
thanks
