I always find it funny to see all the n00b's get all the new gear, all brand name shiet, and then think they are the shit. :chuckles:

Going for first time of the season this weekend... way too early IMO, but should be fun.

I gots the '05 Ride Control board, '05 Ride Team bindings, & '04 Salomon F20 boots. This setup should keep me going for a few years. I'm a boardin' n00b, but been skiing for over 15 years.

i was a skier for 10 years before i snowboarded. i still have my first and only board. its an old heavy Liquid with clunky preston bindings. and i still love it. i got it in 95 h:
for some reason my boots are waaaaay to big for me now so i got rid of them and am in need of new ones. any suggestions?

Going from ski's to boarding is a big learning curve. You're so accustomed to do certain things on the mountain so your mind and your legs want to do something that you're used to- but the different stance yields much different results.

I think it's alot easier if you've never ski'ed before.

For boots, check out REI.com They have deals on Salolon F20 or F22. Most of the people I know use them because they are pretty comfy.

yeah if you try to relate it to skiing while you are learning then youll be doing some nosedives.

i think i would still love skiing but i only board now because i think its sooooooo much less hassle than dealing with 2 skis and poles, etc. and the boots are way more comfy

rei is one of my favorite stores, not sure why i didnt think about that h:

Exactly. I gave up, but then I got back on it because I refuse to get my ass handed to me by the mountain h:

Yes, I know nosedives all too well h: The first few times I boarded were with rentals, for some reason it was fine. After I got my own setup, it was a whole different story.

REI is the way to go for cheap deals on boots.

you were right, i found 2 pair of salomons for under $90 on rei.com! but i think they are out of my size. never heard of the brand thirty two but these are pretty cool (for girls):

looks like either rei is about to stop carrying salomon boots or salomon is about to come out with an entire new line of boots :dunno:

me and some of my friends went up to snow summit on saturday. for all man-made snow, the conditions were pretty good for the open runs, miracle mile, and the one right next to it... excellent coverage from top to bottom, and absolutely no lines.
