Default maybe someone here can help figure this out for once

ever since i stopped driving my 1991 V6 sable everything else seems on the slow side, my accord was a dog as far as i was concerned, but i jsut came across something that caught my eye. a same model year thunderbird, which weighs 500lbs more and has the same engine, though RWD, runs high 16's..

would that mean that my sable could have possibly been throwing me into the 16's with a blown head gasket?

the car was a 3.8L V6, not to be confused with the 3.0L SHO V6, i believe mine was in the essex line of V6's

it was a mercury sable GS (sister car to the taurus), i always wondered exactly how fast that car was, my father sold it too fast for me to fix it (like i was planning to do so my sister could have a beater car,of which she is now mad about not getting it, all it needed was a new headgasket...)

all i know is it had buttloads of torque and not nearly enough horse (something like 220 ft-lbs and 145 horse)

my dad has a 01 taurus wagon...

compared to a 98 v6 accord (both 200hp) it's not as quick/fast.

i never said it was fast, i'm just saying, it seemed a hell of alot faster than my accord I4

i found it interesting that the same engine could force a 3500 pound car into the 16's what it was doing with my car at 3000

i'm wondering infact how fast it could have been, as there seems to be little information i have been able to find
