Integra Type R driver who can't drive
This baffles me. People who modify their cars, yet never learn how to improve their driving skills or awareness.
If anyone in the bay area knows the northboud 85 to 237 connection, they know it can get backed up. So this morning, I see a white teggy that may or may not be a real Type R. But it had the red badge and Type R spoiler, seriously slammed to the ground riding on black rims. Ok, no big deal.
But he was going painfully slow over the triple esses of the connecting ramp, such that he was backing up the people behind him, including the big SUV right behind him. He was going so slow, that even the SUV had to slow down more than necessary to take the curves.
Ok, so maybe he's just driving too slow today... but no, as he merges to 237 he punches it passing everyone else. So let me guess, he only knows how to drag?
And on a side note, the other day I see a fairly new Bimmer M3 yanking himself through traffic, making abrupt steering and accelerating into turns. It seemed like because he thought he was in an M3 he could "drive reckless" and the car would give it to him; fully unaware of his spikey telemetry.
Whatever. I just don't get why.

Not even looking for perfection either (I haven't achieved it), just looking for proficiency and an understanding of the concept of where car limits are.

i believe there should be a separate license endorsement allowing people to drive cars of a sporty or performance nature that you arent allowed to get until you pass a driving skills test or pass a handling class
i'd say limit this to cars that have corrected times of 15 seconds or less in the 1/4 mile or can pull .85 g's
on a skidpad
as for that guy, he just sounds like he was being a dick. in my hometown i used to drive 5 mph under the speed limt, and then zoom around this S curve near my house and park it in this alcove to see how many epoel i could trap behind me. i was such a little jackass
