Default 68' Lotus Elan

Looks like that but in red.

Well I found a '68 Lotus Elan owned by a former racer and car nut (has a huge stable). He's getting too old to drive so he's selling them off. Also has a 2002, few Italian horses, Bentley and other ones out of my range. h:

What do you think of this car? First owner but not original paint, yet it's the club edition and has won two GPs in Japan/China in the 70s with him driving it. Comes with signature from Colin Chapman too and a host of parts but he says everyone that can fix the car is now deceased.

When I was reading your thread title, I thought you were buying a 68 footer Lotus Elan h:

Anyways, it looks really nice. How much is the guy looking for?

They weigh like 1400 lbs. Lotsa fun. This is the car that Mazda was trying to copy when they came out with the original Miata.

He offered a really low price, about 5k USD. Says he just wants to give it a good home. I think it's worth 15k.

Well I don't know too much about em, just sort of what I know secondhand by having a Miata which is sort of inspired by the Elan. Check out lotuselan.net, lots of info that I wouldn't know.

I've driven two one in great condition and one with no brakes. Fun little cars as there is no weight to them. I'd buy it for 5000.
