don't you hate it when.. <yet another work rant>
When someone calls your desk phone but you don't want to answer since they call several times a day with questions/problems that can be answered at the Helpdesk. They then proceed to email you knowing you have a Blackberry and the subject reads "Are u here?" . I even went as far as changing my voicemail to say "If this is a work request of any kind or you need assistance, please contact the Helpdesk". I still receive voicemail/email that I either don't respond to or simply respond with the number to the IT Helpdesk. :rolleyes:
It's really getting annoying. I'm sure you're tired of my work rants but it just feels good to get it off my chest. :oh: |
That is definitely annoying. Just answer the phone next time and tell them the process. It sounds like this person is not getting the hint so be blunt.

I get 3-5 phone calls every day asking for some bank. I dont work for a bank. I ask what number they are trying to reach and its a 1800 number.. Im a 315-xxx-xxxx number. I want to punch someone in the face. Any day now Im going to write down all bank account information and sell it on ebay.

I dislike it when other people say they couldn't do their job duties because they were sick, dog died, cat died, left thumb has a cut, right toe has an ingrown toe nail, car ran out of gas, car ran out of tires, car ran out of road, etc.
We're all doing the same job and we all have person problems, issues, etc. Yet 1/2 of us get the job done, on time, and excellent quality. Excuses, excuses. |
Solarwind - I have the same problem, I get calls thinking I work for a bank, I work for a public utility. It's funny because some people don't stop to listen at what I say and start talking, especially when it is law inforcement, I usually let them give me heir entire speech and then at the end I tell them you reached the public utility.

I hate the calls where the person is provided the proper information but they dont want to do it themselves. They demand that you do it. That really boils my bloood
