Default AL Race

first may i ask that if your only comment is "baseball sucks" "yankees suck" "boston sucks" "gay-rod" "1 every 86" or whatever, dont bother....

but im curious to see what you baseball fans see happening with the AL East and Central races, who do you pick for the Wild Card spot and who do you think is going to pull through?

as a yanks fan, i have a bad feeling about getting first place but i am fairly confiident that they will see the playoffs, at least in a wild card spot.

Boston for 1st in teh East
Cleveland for 1st in the Central
NY for wild card spot.

discuss.

I think this race is amazing. It is so up in the air. No team has a sure shot to get into the playoffs.

This is what baseball is all about. It even has non baseball fans talking about it. It is a great thing for baseball

My predictions:

AL East - Yankees
AL Central - Indians
Wild Card - Red Sox

I hope I have a feeling the Yanks are going to demolish Boston in the final series as they perform their usual September collapse (no reason to think they won't since they have ever year except last year) and the Indians are gonna nip Cleveland.

its going to be an awesome weekend, as a Sox fan I have to say I'm a little scared about our pitching. even if the Sox make it into the playoffs I can't see them going far just because our pitching is so weak. the crowd at fenway is going to be going crazy this weekend, the games should be fun to watch.

The White Sox are going to pull it off in the Central. The Indians should be able to wrap up the wildcard. Yanks have enough firepower to take the east.

The Redsox pitching is breaking apart. It looks like the entire AL east and lone playoff spot will be decided on Sunday when Schilling takes on Mussina. If you look at their last outings, this may be a battle of the bullpens by the 5th inning.

Yeah idk if Mussina is the best pitcher for such a clutch situation. It may be a nail bitter :nervous:

Schilling is not money in the bank either. ARod could easily go 3 for 4 against him.

Mussina against Ortiz and Ramirez? That can get ugly too.

Johnson vs Wakefield on Saturday should be a great battle. RJ seems to have gotten his control back. Wakefield has been the Redsox's best pitcher all year long.

Yanks pitching isnt exactly hall of famers calibur.... if you watched last nite, they went through 6 pitchers in the first 5 innings.... :noes:

im hoping to see cleveland take the central, ny take the east and the white sox take the wild card but i think i know better so realisticly speaking, probably my first post picks are what i'd bet on.
