i'm in a strange bad mood tonight

these threads about college degrees and best friends have got me down because those 2 things are what haunt me.

i've lost faith in my degree getting me the job i want, and i have no one to talk to about this shit because my old "best" friends started their careers and got this sudden "holier than thou" mentality.

Talk to HAN. HAN has good ears.

i'm somewhat in the same boat as you...

as odd as it sounds, its not always easy seeing someone other than yourself succeed, especially if that person has had it seemingly "easier" than you have.

I guess that doesnt help much, but

here goes.....................................

when i started college i went in for mechanical engineering. i was excepted to Drexel University for Christ's sake!! after 2 semesters of engineering classes i switched to international politics in hopes of landing a govt agency job afterwards. i had my good semesters and my bad semesters. then one day my parents just then found out i switched majors (probably 3 semester AFTER i switched) and got on my back saying "you won't go anywhere with a liberal arts major [wrong description- those dolts]" and "all you can do with that is teach it" and also "poli sci [which is NOT my major per se] is one of the easiest degrees."

i blew them off like i always do. but then i learned that the CIA only really recruits the best of the best and i know i'm not near the best. my GPA is average because i'm absolutely sick of school, and my Arabic language class is a constant struggle because i'm like the only person who doesn't have previous contact with the language in my class.

so i'm aiming for the Air Force. however, what do they want with someone who has a degree in International Politics and can speak/write/read Arabic at a novice level????

these are bothering me now more than ever since i'm graduating this semester (december 17..who's coming to my commencement?)

Good eyes not ears since we read the text. Unless you use MS's Narrator.
